Beechworth, Victoria

This gorgeous Shiraz is simply declassified fruit that goes into the Domenica Shiraz. The vines are low cropped and farmed organically but not certified. Nonew oak used here, allowing the stunning red and black fruits to shine through. It's fantastically complex showing raspberries, blackberries and plums, along with liquorice and subtle spice and pepper. Outstanding Shiraz at this price! Pair with slow roasted rib on the bone or beef cheeks on silky potato purée.

Domenica is the project of Peter Graham, who previously worked for 13 years with Giaconda in Beechworth. The 4 hectares vineyard is located six kilometres south west of Beechworth, adjacent to the renowned Warner vineyard, at an altitude of around 460 metres. The soil is granitic, and the exposure is varied, from steep southerly slopes for the chardonnay, to a gentler north easterly aspect for the Roussanne/Marsanne. Two Cells wines is Peter Graham’s second label, made from his own fruit, farmed organically.
