95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio. This smoky, warming red spends 24 months in a mixture of oak which is beautifully integrated with the complex layers of fruits that are plums, black cherries, coffee, pepper and spice. The tannins are pretty firm but at the same time elegant. Pair it with lamb cutlets or chops on the coals or seared kangaroo fillet as a left of centre match.

The Torre Mora wines are produced by Tenute Piccini who are actually based in Tuscany. The two vineyards of Torre Mora are located in Rovittello, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia and at Contrada Torre, in the municipality of Linguaglossa. The vine age is between 14 and 17 years. Due to the steep slopes on which the vineyards are situated, they use spurred cordons on the small areas with flat land and albarello / bush vines on the terraces. The soil is purely volcanic and is extremely fertile and is rich in minerals and trace elements from the volcanic eruptions.
