David (viticulture and oenology) and Nadia (soil science and viticulture) studied together and got married in 2009. "Our first wine was made in 2010 (while still employed by our previous employers)."
David resigned during 2013 and Nadia joined him permanently at the beginning of 2016. "We have two energetic boys, Wilhelm and Malan, and a tan staffie named Tarzan. Approximately half of the grapes that we work with, comes from the Paardebosch farm (where our winery is based) and the rest we source from other farms, all situated in the Swartland."
They have three projects:
1) David & Nadia range – grapes used from the whole of Swartland representing its soils, vineyards and people. Wines include: Chenin blanc, Aristargos, Grenache and Elpidios
2) Topography range – only grapes used from the Siebritskloof of the Paardeberg where we are based. Wines include: Pinotage and Sémillon
3) Single vineyards range – currently two single vineyard Chenin blancs. Wines include: Skaliekop and Hoë-Steen
"We are still very happy in the winery that we call the home of our wines on the Paardebosch farm."
