100% Shiraz from Hermitage in the Northern Rhone Valley. This is a seriously good wine, as much love goes into this as does their top cuvée that sells for well over $200. The nose shows classic liquorice, black cherry and cinnamon and these flow seamlessly onto the succulent, supple palate. There is no oak used in this wine at all.
Ideal with lamb Souvlaki/Gyros, lamb cutlets, a big juicy burger or eggplant dishes.

Founded in 1933 Cave de Tain is located at the foot of the hill of Hermitage between Valencia and Lyon. The historic vineyard is a local co-op with over 300 grower-members and 1000 hectares of vineyards making it the main producer of wines in Northern Rhône Valley.
"Pioneers in many areas, with the promotion of our prestigious cru wines in France and abroad, sustainable viticulture or conservation of our unique grape varieties..., we know how to develop the knowledge passed down by four generations of winegrowers and how to regularly invest in a leading edge tool. Our young winegrowers aren’t short of ideas to express their sensitivity and the diversity of our terroirs either! Immersed in the culture of the perfect fruit and the perfect technique, the Cave de Tain is recognised today as a jewel in the crown of the northern Rhone valley for its prestigious cru de wines, but our main ambition is also to make you feel happy when you taste our wines!"
